Stalybridge Town Team and WI join forces for community clean-up

Residents and volunteers across Stalybridge are being encouraged to take part in a community clean‑up on Saturday 28 March, organised by Stalybridge Town Team in partnership with the Women’s Institute.

The event begins at 9.30am, with volunteers meeting at Armentières Square (Town Team Hub, on the corner of the Tesco car park) before heading out in small groups to tackle litter in the town centre, nearby streets and along the canal.

The clean‑up forms part of the Town Team’s ongoing work to keep Stalybridge clean, welcoming and well cared for, while inspiring more people to get involved in local community activity.

Chris Tyler, vice chair for the Town Team said:

“We’re really pleased to be working alongside the Women’s Institute this month and hope to see a great turnout.

These clean‑ups make a real difference to the look and feel of the town, and they’re also a great way for people to meet others and get involved in their community.”

All equipment will be provided, and volunteers of all ages are welcome. No experience is required, and anyone interested can simply turn up on the day.
