Three Tameside primary schools set to join growing trust

THREE primary schools in Tameside are working in partnership with Stamford Park Trust ahead of plans to formally join the education trust.

Broadbent Fold Primary School, Audenshaw Primary School and Livingstone Primary School have begun collaborating with the trust while formal approval processes with the Department for Education are ongoing.

Another primary school is also understood to be in the pipeline.

The trust currently includes Ashton Sixth Form College, Rayner Stephens High School, Longdendale High School, and Fairfield High School for Girls.

Leaders say the new partnerships aim to strengthen education across Tameside by creating closer links between primary, secondary and post-16 providers.

If the arrangements are approved, the trust will expand to include primary provision, creating a pathway for pupils from early years through to sixth form. The move is intended to improve the transition between primary and secondary school, allow staff to share expertise and ensure a more consistent approach to teaching and learning.

Anton McGrath, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stamford Park Trust, said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our partnership with colleagues at Broadbent Fold Primary School, Livingstone Primary School, and Audenshaw Primary School.

“Working together creates valuable opportunities to enhance teaching and learning, including smoother transitions from primary to secondary education, better-aligned curricula, and enriching experiences for a wider and more diverse range of students across Tameside.

“This collaboration reinforces our commitment to excellence and ambition for every student, ensuring a clear and supportive journey from early years through to post-16 education. We are proud to welcome the staff, students, parents and carers of these schools into our Trust family.”

During the partnership phase, there will be no immediate changes to the day-to-day running of the schools.

The trust says it is looking forward to formally welcoming the schools and continuing to “work collectively to deliver the highest quality education for children and young people across the borough”.
