Bridge Fest volunteers gear up for this year’s celebration

A Stalybridge cultural fixture is gearing up for its return, as planning gets underway for Bridge Fest, scheduled for Saturday, September 5.

Bridge Fest has quickly become a highlight of Stalybridge’s calendar since its launch, drawing thousands of residents and visitors into the town centre for a day of live music, performances and celebrations of local talent.

The 2025 festival, which took place in early September, featured performers across multiple venues and saw large crowds gathering in Armentieres Square and other locations across Stalybridge to enjoy a variety of acts.

Volunteers from the Stalybridge Town Team, who organise the event each year, have already begun meeting to map out ideas and coordinate plans for the 2026 festival.

Early discussions are focussing on securing acts, confirming performance spaces and building on the success of previous years to make next year’s festival even bigger and more engaging.

Bridge Fest traditionally brings together a mix of live music, artistic performances and community atmosphere, with venues throughout the town centre transformed into stages during the event.

The festival not only showcases local musicians and performers but also helps support Stalybridge’s hospitality and cultural scene, reinforcing a strong sense of community pride.

Organisers say they are excited to start planning early, giving volunteers, performers and businesses plenty of time to get involved and contribute ideas.

More details on the line-up and schedule are expected to be announced in the coming months as arrangements are finalised.
