MOSSLEY Farmers Market has captured the hearts of local residents since the day it launched – and now it has gone one step further, being named Best Small Speciality Market at the Great British Market Awards.
It’s an impressive achievement for a market that has been running for just a year, having launched in 2024.
Held on the last Sunday of each month, the market has quickly become one of Mossley’s most popular community events. Visitors enjoy a wide range of fresh produce, handmade crafts, plants, treats and friendly traders, alongside family‑friendly entertainment that makes each market day feel special.
Past attractions have included Laurel and Hardy tribute acts, interactive characters such as the Grinch, children’s entertainment featuring dinosaurs, and classic car displays – all helping to create a lively, welcoming atmosphere for all ages.
The Great British Market Awards are organised by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA), the leading body representing and supporting markets across the UK. NABMA promotes high standards in market management, professional development for market officers, and champions the vital role markets play in local communities.
Awards are judged by a panel of experienced market professionals, ensuring that winners demonstrate genuine excellence, innovation and community impact.
