A CANDIDATE in the Gorton and Denton by-election has pledged to fight for the good of people’s pockets.

Dan Clarke has been picked to stand for the Libertarian Party as a total of 11 were declared for the February 26 poll.

He is no stranger to standing, having been a candidate in two elections before.

And he says he would look to fight for lower taxes and cutting costs at government level.

Mr Clarke told The Correspondent: “What I can do, is give people the representation they have been lacking for so long.

“I have the energy and stamina required to fight for them in the political arena.

“I can fight to start lowering taxes and oppose every step of the way the growth in size and cost of the government, which has grown every year since before the time of “austerity” began.

“Because it’s been austerity for the people, but it’s been time of plenty for the government and the civil service.

“It’s just not right to hand out huge pay rises by this labour government to those who profess to “serve” us.

“All the established parties are interested in is how to “spend” your money.

“For small businesses, pubs and the whole hospitality sector it’s been a slow death as the entrepreneurial lifeblood has been sucked out by these leeches.

“If you think Reform are any different, you’d be mistaken. They merely offer different priorities, different ways to spend your money.

“All Reform-controlled councils have increased taxes.

“We are the only party that fights to reduce government, reduce interference into your lives, reject digital ID and let parents decide what best for their children.”
