PEOPLE with a passion for stepping back in time and doing so in style have the perfect place to do so in Stalybridge.
Tucked away on Knowl Street, Vintage & Vinyl has quickly become a beloved spot for anyone with a passion for music, fashion and nostalgia.
Opened in August 2025, the small business is run by husband and wife Adele and David Summergill and stands on the back of son Alfie’s 1996 Music Productions drumming school lessons, which he puts on throughout the week.

On Friday and Saturday, the studio space becomes something magical, closely resembling a miniature version of Manchester’s Afflecks.
For it becomes an Aladdin’s cave filled to the brim of trinkets at every turn, this gem is worth the find.
Customers can buy vintage Levi jeans, 1980s and 1990s ladies and menswear, accessories like jewellery, sunglasses, hats and caps, official band merchandise and vinyl records and CDs.
People are greeted by a staircase lined with vintage magazine posters featuring iconic stars and musicians from the past.

But on the upper level – a stairlift is available – stepping through the white double doors into the shop is like being transported into what feels like a giant walk-in wardrobe.
Adele said. ‘People just come in and are amazed when they come up the stairs, they’re just quite surprised what is inside – which is nice.
“It’s like an Aladdin’s cave and we’re getting positive feedback from everyone who comes in.”
In just a few months since opening, the shop has already built strong support within the local community and was proudly featured at So Retro’s Vintage and Vinyl pop-up fair at Stalybridge Civic Hall in November.
Vintage & Vinyl has also confirmed its return for the next pop-up market in the spring.
Vintage and Vinyl can be found on the first floor at 45a Knowl St in Stalybridge and is open on Friday from noon until 5pm and Saturday from 11am until 5pm.
