SONGS, silliness and sparkle are guaranteed in a magical retelling of a classic fairytale at a community centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The much-loved annual pantomime at Hurst Community Centre sees Rapunzel come to the stage, starting on Sunday, November 30.
The volunteer-led Centre Players – a sub-group of the centre’s committee – are deep into rehearsals for the family-friendly show full of laughter, music and festive fun.
The production, written by Ben Crocker, runs until Saturday, December 6 at the Kings Road venue, with weekend performances at 1.30pm and evening shows at 7pm.
Every penny raised from ticket sales goes straight back into maintaining and improving the community centre, making the pantomime one of its most important fundraisers of the year.
As you probably know already, the story follows Rapunzel – who was stolen as a baby by a wicked sorceress and locked in a lonely tower until a brave prince helps her fight for freedom.
With a quick-witted dame, hapless helpers and a battle of wits against evil, it promises to be a highlight of the festive season.
Tickets are £10, which are available online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/hurstcommunitycentre or via the box office on 0333 666 3366.
Discounted prices for organised groups – such as Scouts, Guides and sports teams – are available by emailing centreplayers@hurstcommunitycentre.org.uk
