Curzon learn FA Trophy second round proper opponents

CURZON Ashton Football Club have discovered their opponents for the second round proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy.

This stage of the competition sees clubs from the National League North and South enter.

The Nash will travel to Derbyshire on Saturday, November 15, after being drawn to face Ilkeston Town – who sit in the division below.

The Robins, managed by Ian Deakin, are currently 10th in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after taking 19 points from their opening 14 league matches.

Before visiting the Manor Ground, Curzon have four league fixtures to negotiate first – three of which are at home.

The Nash host King’s Lynn and make the journey to Hereford before Spennymoor Town and Scarborough Athletic are the visitors to the Tameside Stadium.

Mark Bradshaw’s side bounced back from a 3-2 defeat at Macclesfield Town by securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory at home to Peterborough Sports last weekend, courtesy of Alex Curran’s first-half strike.

Curzon sit 10th in the National League North – the sixth tier of English football – and are three places and four points adrift of the play-off positions.

If they get past Ilkeston, the Nash must win five more matches in the competition to reach the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Now in its 44th season, the FA Trophy – which was won by Aldershot Town last term – is the premier knockout competition for clubs in steps one to four in the National League System.
