Hyde community unites for powerful night of men’s mental health awareness

RESIDENTS came together for a moving and emotional evening in support of Andy’s Man Club, the national men’s mental health charity that encourages men to open up and talk.

Held at Gee Cross Community Centre, the event drew a crowd of locals, councillors, business owners and families – all united by the club’s simple but powerful message: “It’s okay to talk.”

Councillors and members of the community unite for a powerful evening supporting men’s mental health.

Organisers Hayley Hulme, Ash Hulme and Oggie Ogden led the evening, which featured live music, personal stories and emotional moments of reflection. Together, they helped spark conversations about the challenges many men face but rarely speak about.

Building momentum for change

Held on October 3, the event filled Gee Cross community hall with emotion and support — and left everyone feeling more hopeful.

Oggie said he was overwhelmed by the turnout and confirmed that, thanks to the success of the event, Andy’s Man Club will soon be opening in Hyde.

The first session is expected to launch on October 27 at Woodley Sports Village, marking the first Andy’s Man Club group in the Stockport area.
