Hundreds turn out for Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair

MORE than 600 people attended this year’s Tameside Autumn Jobs Fair, connecting residents with local employers, training providers and career support services.

The event, organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team, took place on  October 1 and proved a major success – helping residents explore new job opportunities and access tailored guidance on their next career steps.

Over 40 employers were on hand to offer live vacancies and training programmes, giving attendees the chance to discuss roles in detail and even apply on the day.

Council teams were also present to provide one-to-one support, including CV writing advice, interview tips and guidance on training and development pathways. Many visitors praised the personalised approach, describing the fair as “supportive” and “invaluable” for anyone looking to progress their career.

Feedback left by attendees highlighted the range of opportunities available and the welcoming atmosphere created by both employers and council staff.

Cllr Leanne Feeley, Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture, said:

“It’s fantastic to see another hugely successful jobs fair. The event gives residents the chance to receive bespoke support and explore real employment opportunities – and it’s wonderful that more than 600 people came along to benefit from it.
Thank you to all the employers who took part and to our brilliant teams for hosting another excellent event.”

Tameside Council has confirmed plans for another Jobs Fair in Spring 2026, continuing its commitment to helping residents access training, employment and career development support.
