HOMEOWNERS and first-time buyers are being invited to a free drop-in event at a local branch of the Yorkshire Building Society.
The Ashton-under-Lyne branch will offer practical guidance on mortgages and managing repayments.
The session will take place on Monday, October 13, from 10am to 4pm at the branch on Old Street.
It’s open to both existing customers and anyone looking to find out more about getting onto the property ladder or remortgaging.

Visitors will be able to speak with the branch team about topics such as buying a first home, repaying a mortgage, switching products, or what to do if facing financial difficulties.
Branch manager Amanda Allwood said: “We’re hosting this event to try and help those who either already own, or are looking to buy their own home, to better understand the support that might be available to them. Our branch team will be on hand to answer questions and signpost people to more help and advice.”
She added: “A mortgage is perhaps the most expensive monthly outgoing people have and prompt a lot of questions from our customers. We hope by listening to people’s questions and concerns, we can help them learn more about how they can get on the property ladder, types of mortgages that might suit them, or what they can do if they are facing challenges.”
Anyone interested in attending can drop by on the day or contact the branch on 0161 885 2491 for more information.
