Mossley primary school set for ‘versatile’ addition

A MOSSLEY primary school will soon get a new landmark as work on its outdoor classroom is set to begin.

Milton St John’s Church of England, on Mill Lane, will get the facility in its yard following fundraising efforts by its parent teacher association.

The wooden structure with a canopy – similar to the one pictured – is part of a ‘much bigger vision.’

As well taking education outside, it will also be used during break times.

Now excitement is building as construction of the structure – described as ‘a versatile, open-air space designed to inspire creativity, curiosity and a love for learning – will shortly start.

A spokesperson for Milton St John’s Primary said: “It will be used for a wide range of lessons – from science and storytelling to art and mindfulness – bringing learning outdoors in a fun and engaging way.

“Even better, the space will also be available for children to enjoy during playtimes, offering a calm, shaded area where they can read, chat with friends, or take part in small group activities.

“It’s a wonderful addition that we know the children will love and benefit from every day.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has supported PTA events and fundraising activities – your contributions are making a real difference.”
