Ashton prepares for a heritage celebration

Ashton town centre will be buzzing with activity on Saturday, September 20, as residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a day of entertainment, history and art.

Running between 11am and 2pm, the free event will feature a special appearance by The Black Knight alongside the legendary comedy duo Laurel & Hardy. Adding to the day’s attractions, Fletcher Square will unveil a new art display showcasing the Ashton paintings of Steven Bruce.

The celebration, part of the Ashton Heritage programme, promises to bring the town’s rich culture to life while offering family-friendly fun for all ages.

Funded by the UK Government and supported by Greater Manchester, Tameside Metropolitan Borough, and In Tameside, the event highlights the importance of keeping local heritage at the heart of the community.
