A TAMESIDE woman has launched a fundraising campaign to help support the family of a local teenager following her sudden death.
Tina Cooper is looking to raise money for the relatives of Casey-Louise Horrocks, who died in the early hours of August 12 in an incident that has resulted in a ‘rape and murder’ investigation.

A coroner has heard that 13-year-old Casey-Louise, from Mossley, suffered four cardiac arrests and was found unresponsive in a flat in Huddersfield.
Her family said they were “absolutely devastated” by the loss of “beautiful” Casey-Louise, while Mossley Hollins – where she was a pupil – said the school community was “heartbroken” and described her as “a one-of-a-kind young person who brought spirit and warmth wherever she went”.
Tina didn’t know Casey-Louise or her family but wanted to help them so created a GoFundMe page, which has so far raised over £3,000.
Donations can be made by going to https://www.gofundme.com/f/caseylouise
On top of that, Tina has received plenty of donations from local individuals and businesses in the form of prizes for raffles to boost the total further.

“Casey was tragically taken away from her family – she was a vibrant, happy, 13-year-old with all her life ahead of her,” said Tina.
“The funds raised will go to Casey-Louise’s family to help send this angel on her final journey. Let’s help her family send their daughter on her final journey with dignity.”
Tina has been fundraising for 15 years to help people in the local community and has a Facebook page, which you can visit here: https://www.facebook.com/tina.cooper.5811877
She won the Charity Fundraiser of the Year award at the Amazing Ashton Awards in 2023 and was recently nominated for a Pride of Britain award by people who know about her fundraising efforts.
“I have raised money for a lot of good causes – too many to mention – and have given gifts to poorly children,” Tina added. “I started fundraising when my niece passed away at the age of 27 from breast cancer”.
