Tameside College students achieve Healthy full house

STUDENTS at Tameside College left with a Healthy glow after achieving a phenomenal 100 per cent pass rate.

Everyone studying for a T-Level in Health at the Ashton-under-Lyne centre made the grade on Thursday, August 14, paving the way for future careers.

Destinations for the class of 2025 include a range of professional qualifications at university and a career as a medic in the RAF.

The T-level health course is the equivalent to A-level study and is delivered in partnership with Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation, which provides extensive placements in the therapy professions.

Now many are going on to study courses in subjects like Occupational Therapy, Adult Nursing, Children’s Nursing, Paramedic Science, Biological Science and Physiotherapy.

One such student is Ellie Fawcett, a former pupil at Dukinfield’s Rayner Stephens High School, who has been accepted at Manchester Metropolitan University to study Physiotherapy after gaining Distinctions.

She said: “The T-level in health at Tameside College has given me a real insight in to the differences in the healthcare roles.

“I had intended to follow a career in nursing but I became passionate about physiotherapy after a placement with them.

“When I saw a big green tick on my UCAS form, I knew that I had achieved the required grades.”

Nicola Welland, Tameside College’s deputy principal, congratulated the T-level students on their achievements.

She said: “You now have an opportunity to develop your careers further in much needed care roles in Greater Manchester and beyond.

“I would like to thank your teachers and the care trust who have given you the knowledge and experience to make this progression possible.”
