GUIDE Bridge Theatre is set to bring the story of four middle-aged women who find themselves stranded on a remote island to the stage.
An amateur production of Sheila’s Island – from the writer of Calendar Girls – will have a week-long run at the Audenshaw-based theatre.
Written by Tim Firth and directed by Hazel Phillips, Sheila’s Island transports the audience to a remote island in the Lake District on Bonfire Night in 2019 with Sheila, Denise, Julie and Fay – during a corporate team-building exercise gone disastrously wrong.
As the group struggles to survive in the wild with limited resources, they discover truths about themselves and each other along the way.
Sheila, the reluctant leader, tries to keep the team together but the group’s lack of survival skills lead to some absurd and hilarious situations.
Sheila’s Island will be at Guide Bridge Theatre from Monday, September 8, to Saturday, September 13.
Performances start at 7.30pm each night and there will also be a 2pm matinee on Saturday.
Tickets are £11 each or £9.90 for Guide Bridge Theatre members. They can be booked online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/gbt/e-vxbkmv
