A HATTERSLEY church is flying high after receiving Manchester Airport funding to help power up its energy savings.
St Barnabas Church has been awarded a cash boost to support green energy lighting.
The £3,000 grant will help reduce the cost of running the building on Hattersley Road East.
The church is at the heart of the community, hosting award-winning groups such as Community Matters, Hattersley Health Champions, the Trussell Trust foodbank, and the Bread and Butter Thing.

Local MP Jonathan Reynolds, who represents Hattersley in Parliament, has visited the church on many occasions and has expressed his delight that it has received this support.
The funding has come from Manchester Airport’s Community Trust Fund, as part of the airport’s long-standing commitment to supporting local projects.
The airport contributes £100,000 every year to communities across its catchment area, which is an approximate 10-mile radius of the airport.
