Gee Cross Well Dressing back in 2022

Well dressing dates back to pagan times and was later embraced by Christians as a way of giving thanks for clean water.

In Gee Cross, this practice has long served as a symbol of unity and gratitude, often coinciding with summer thanksgiving.

The 2025 event is embracing that spirit with a call to action for local residents and businesses to join in by decorating their windows, with prizes awarded for the best home and business displays.

Photos of these vibrant can be shared on the event’s Facebook page.

The event is being supported through donations, with QR codes available on posters and social media linking to a GoFundMe campaign.

Local businesses are also hosting donation buckets to help support the continuation of this long-standing tradition.
