Oooh la-la! ‘Bangin’’ French scran is toast of Stalybridge

A STALYBRIDGE business has thanked its viral menu for attracting Mancunian rap royalty to his cafe-bar.

Stephen Bower (Operations Manager) said platinum-selling wordsmith Aitch dropped unannounced into SK15 Bar & Bistro on Saturday, June 7 to tuck into its famed pistachio French toast before declaring it “bangin.’”

“He just turned up out of the blue with a mate,” Stephen said. “He was after some French toast and the SK15 club sandwich.

“The staff recognised him straight away, looked after him, and he was happy to have some pictures taken after.

“All the girls are buzzing.”

The Market Street venue describes its pistachio French toast as ‘the perfect start to the day’, with the dish featuring mascarpone and a white chocolate ganache, criss-crossed with white chocolate and pistachio sauce.

SK15 has been a key part of Stalybridge’s recent revival and had its licensing hours extended in March.

“People have been saying it’s a great addition to Stalybridge,” Stephen added. “There are three or four traffic wardens during the day now when there were none before, which shows how busy it’s getting.

“There are plenty of bars opening in town now that are following our lead and it’s great to see.”

Aitch, 25, has had a string of top 10 hits, including ‘My G’ with Ed Sheeran and ‘Baby’ alongside Ashanti, while his 2022 Close to Home debut album reached No 2 in the charts.

The sweet-toothed Moston rapper’s follow-up LP, 4, hits the shelves on June 20 on the Infinitum label.
