Tameside gears up for Armed Forces Day 2025 celebration

TAMESIDE’S annual salute to the borough’s service personnel past, present and future is coming up.

Armed Forces Day provides a fun day out for all the family, with activities, workshops and performances on offer.

Taking place on Saturday, June 28th, it will begin with a private luncheon for veterans on Denton Civic Square at midday.

Live music and dancing from local dance schools and musicians will form part of a programme of entertainment on the bandstand throughout the afternoon.

There will also be a range of activities for children and adults alike – including climbing walls, face painting, arts and crafts, and inflatable axe throwing.

Also in attendance will be a number of support services and community organisations, showing how they can offer assistance.

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for the Tameside community to show its appreciation of the contribution made by all those who serve, or have served, in His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

Veterans living in the borough can get updates on events and support available by registering with Tameside Armed Services Community (TASC) at https://tamesideasc.org.uk/join.
