Stalybridge care home to welcome visitors in Open Week

A STALYBRIDGE care home is ready to throw open its doors and welcome visitors and guests from the local community.

Millbrook, on Huddersfield Road, is participating in this year’s Care Home Open Week celebrations from Monday, June 16 to Sunday, June 22.

And as part of that, it will welcome residents, colleagues, friends, family and the wider community to take part in different activities from the Monday until Friday, June 20.

They will involve reminiscing about summer holidays and comedy with Laurel and Hardy to crafting, nail art and games.

Care Home Open Week is a national event hosted by Championing Social Care, designed to connect care homes with their local communities as well as give them the opportunity to showcase their services, provide tours and highlight the activities that are offered to residents.

Millbrook’s owners HC-One have chosen the theme of ‘The Big Summer Weekender’ and it will be adorned in a variety of decorations, emulating the nostalgic feel of British summer holidays.

Visitors will also be encouraged to hear about what a rewarding career in care looks like as well as opportunities for community engagement and about the volunteering roles on offer within the home.

Millbrook Care Home’s manager, Claire Jones, said: “We’re proud to open our doors and our hearts to the local community during Care Home Open Week.

“It’s a chance to celebrate the people who make our home so special — our residents, our dedicated team and the families who support us every day.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone for a week of connection, joy, and shared stories.”
