Specialist Support for adult learners

The Higher Education Centre based at Ashton Sixth Form College is staffed by a dedicated team, focused exclusively on higher and adult education.

With experienced tutors, personalised support and small class sizes, adult learners are empowered to succeed—whether they’re returning to education after a break or starting their learning journey for the first time. Students consistently achieve outstanding results, with many graduating with Distinctions, First Class Honours, and PGCEs with master’s credits.

Career and university progression

Many of our adult learners achieve GCSE or vocational qualifications, before progressing to higher education study. Students studying the Access to Higher Education Diploma in Health Science students frequently progress to university to study paramedic science, midwifery, nursing, or other health profession related degrees.

Graduates of the BA (Hons) in Education course can progress to teacher training, pursue master’s qualifications, or advance further in their current roles.

Whatever stage you’re at, Ashton’s Higher Education Centre offers expert support and guidance to help you take the next step and achieve your ambitions.
