AN INTRIGUING story about five old soldiers who harbour five dark secrets will soon be told on a Tameside stage.
‘The Eternal Soldier’ is coming to Guide Bridge Theatre from Monday, April 28, to Saturday, May 3.
Attending their annual reunion, the quintet of soldiers discover that they are the last survivors of a disastrous action that took place in 1944.
They also discover that each of them has a dark secret connected to that day.
The reunion is also attended by the unseen ghost of the ‘Eternal Soldier’, who unearths long-forgotten memories and moves step by step towards retribution.
The play will be directed by Stephen Burke, who co-wrote the story alongside Suphena Clarke.
Performances at the Audenshaw Road theatre will start at 7.30pm each evening, with doors opening at 6.45pm. There will also be a 2pm Saturday matinee.
Tickets are £9 each and can be bought online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/gbt/e-lqemaz
