Mossley funeral director reopens fund to support community projects

A FUNERAL director in Mossley is looking to support more good causes in the local community it is part of.

A fund set up to help local charities has reopened to allow more organisations to benefit from grants.

The Elizabeth Way & Company Community Assistance Programme launched last year, designed to assist projects within three miles of their Stamford Street funeral home.

After 10 local projects received support in 2024, the team is ready to support more groups this year.

“We have loved having the Community Assistance Programme opened over the last year and I am thrilled that with the support of our parent company Funeral Partners, we are able to continue it in 2025,” said Funeral Director Ben McCutcheon.

“We have met some incredible people, built up great links with the community and become more connected with those doing great work in Mossley. But I am certain there must be more projects we haven’t heard from yet.

“If you are running a project or initiative close to our funeral home that needs support, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.”

The fund will be distributed in three cycles this year, with the first open for applications now.

Projects must align with one or more of the four fund categories – Health, Education, Employment Opportunities and Poverty and Social Deprivation.
