RESIDENTS have proudly captured Tameside’s beauty in a local calendar competition.
Over the last 12 months, local people have been submitting photos of the borough in a bid to be part of the ‘Tameside through the Seasons.’
It is the third successive year the competition, organised by Tameside Council in conjunction with the borough’s Community Champions, has run.

Each month of the year features a photo which represents the season it falls in and entries had to be narrowed down to just 12, which proved to be a tough task for the judges.
Photographers of the winning entries were invited to the opening of an exhibition showcasing their work at Local Studies and Archives Centre on Cotton Street East, Ashton-under-Lyne when they also received calendars from the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Betty Affleck.
Speaking at the launch, Cllr Affleck said: “The calendar competition is a lovely way to celebrate and appreciate our borough throughout the year. Each photo truly does represent the beauty within Tameside. You really have captured the best in Tameside.”
Tameside Council’s executive member for culture and lifelong learning, Cllr Leanne Feeley, added: “It’s fantastic to work with our community champions and other local residents to produce the calendar, which is a wonderful celebration of Tameside and our local beauty spots as well as of our brilliant local photographic talent.”
A digital copy of the calendar is available here.

The Tameside Community Champions Network brings residents and communities together to share important local information and support health and wellbeing.
