Community workshop aims to address Tameside inequalities

TACKLING inequalities that residents are facing in Tameside is the agenda of an upcoming meeting.

The workshop, led by Mossley councillor Taf Sharif, is open to all groups and organisations across the borough.

Cllr Sharif, who is the First Deputy and Executive Member for Population Health and Wellbeing on Tameside Council, says it will “focus on refreshing and renewing our approach to Tameside’s inequalities”.

She is looking to refresh the Inequalities Reference Group set up in 2020 and is inviting locals to contribute to shaping its work.

Cllr Sharif commented: “I hope to bring together our community groups, elected members, policymakers and public services, and offer a valuable opportunity to collaborate, share recommendations and provide constructive challenge to address inequalities we are facing in Tameside.

“In light of recent challenges, I am very passionate about ensuring we work together to embrace diversity, reduce inequality and ensure we meet the needs of all Tameside residents.

“This is your chance to shape the group’s future, contribute to its development, and drive positive change across our borough. I look forward to seeing you there.”

The workshop will take place on Tuesday, January 28, from 2pm to 4pm in the Lesser Hall Two at Dukinfield Town Hall (postcode SK16 4LA).
