Stalybridge mum publishes her first two books

A MUM-OF-TWO from Stalybridge has published her first two books, which were inspired by her children.

Siobhan Stretton’s background is in law but her enthusiasm for reading and writing has grown since four-year-old Freddie and six-year-old Zachary came into the world.

She decided to pen two stories aimed at children, of differing age groups.

Little Bear’s New Family – which is illustrated by Andy Case – is 24 pages long and suitable for youngsters aged four to 10.

The Dark Side of the Rainbow is a young adult book, consisting of 89 pages, and is ideal for ages 15 years or older.

Explaining what her intriguing books are about, Siobhan told the Correspondent: “Little Bear’s New Family is about a bear who is upset to find he has new neighbours.

“The Dark Side of the Rainbow is about a family that win tickets to visit ‘The Rainbow’ but end up finding out too much information which lands them in trouble.”

The books, available in paperback, are £7.50 each and can be bought on Amazon, in Waterstones or directly from the publisher ShieldCrest.
