CREWS from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) remain on the scene of a house fire that broke out on Boxing Day night in Hyde.
The blaze was reported at a property on Talbot Road just after 10:30 pm on December 26.
Emergency services from Hyde, Stalybridge, Ashton, Gorton, and Hollins stations arrived at the scene shortly after the alarm was raised.
In a statement, a GMFRS spokesperson said:
“Just after 10.30pm last night (Thursday, December 26), five fire engines from Hyde, Stalybridge, Ashton, Gorton and Hollins fire station were called to reports of a building fire involving a property on Talbot Road, Hyde. Crews arrived quickly at the scene.”
Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus worked through the night, using specialised equipment including hose reels, jets, gas monitors, chimney rods, hearth kits, and thermal imaging cameras.
Crews have been present at the site for over eight hours.
The fire also prompted closures on Talbot Road, however the road has since reopened to vehicles.
There are currently no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
