TWO people remain in hospital with “life-changing” and “life-threatening” injuries after being cut out of a car following a crash in Hyde.
Greater Manchester Police say they were called to a “serious collision” in Newton on Sunday evening (December 1).
When officers arrived on Talbot Road shortly after 5.30pm, they found the vehicle with “extensive damage” and the two injured people.
The driver and front seat passenger were extracted from the vehicle by firefighters using specialist equipment, and paramedics treated them at the scene before they were taken to hospital for treatment.
After carrying out initial investigations, GMP say they suspect that the vehicle had crashed into a perimeter wall of an industrial building, causing “significant front and near side damage”.
The force has not released further details about the vehicle or the people’s identity at this stage.
Talbot Road remained closed in both directions between Victoria Street and Ashton Road for several hours on Sunday evening.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident – or has CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage – to come forward.
