FESTIVE frolics are afoot at Dogs Trust Manchester as the team deck the halls in preparation for its annual Christmas Fair.
Staff at the Denton-based rehoming centre are appealing for donations ahead of the event.
They are on the lookout for chocolate and other sweet treats along with bottles for its treats tombola, pre-loved doggie accessories, and gifts such as toiletries and trinkets for its traditional tombola.
For the ever-popular cafe, they also need dog-loving bakers to make a cake or two.
Donations can be sent to or dropped off at the centre on Parkway (postcode M34 3SG).
“The Christmas Fair is a key fundraising event for us and it’s always a great day for everyone,” said Nicola Hardman, Dogs Trust Manchester’s Supporter Relations Officer who is the event organiser.
“Every penny raised makes sure we can give our dogs everything they need throughout the year, not just at Christmas, whilst they wait to find a happy place of their own with their new families.”
The event is on Sunday, December 1, at the centre from 10am to 4pm – when entry and parking will be free.
Some of the dogs ready to head to new homes will take part in a rehoming parade in the hope of finding their special someone.
There will be lots of fun activities for four-legged visitors – including Fastest Recall, Best Sausage Catcher, Prettiest Pooch, Most Handsome Dog, Best Golden Oldie and Best Dogs Trust Rescue.
As well as a cafe and games to enjoy, there will be craft and gift stalls to get a dog or special human a Christmas present.
