Mossley charity is looking to expand Board of Trustees

A HOMELESSNESS charity is appealing for people to volunteer their time and expertise as trustees.

Emmaus Mossley is looking to fill two trustee vacancies – one as Treasurer and one as Chair of the charity.

The charity – which supports people who have experienced homelessness by providing a home, companionship, tailored support and work opportunities – is hoping to expand the existing team of 11 trustees.

The launch of the search came during Trustees’ Week – an annual campaign which celebrates the achievements of trustees across the UK.

“As a charity, we are constantly looking to develop, improve what we do and plan for the future in line with our vision and values,” said Andrew Kilburn, the charity’s Chair of Trustees.

“We want to maintain good governance standards and a diverse Board of Trustees, so finding and recruiting new trustees is an essential part of that process.

“Joining the Emmaus Mossley Board of Trustees is a rewarding opportunity to give back, work with new people and develop your skills and experience for a worthwhile cause.”

Trustees give their time voluntarily and work collectively to ensure the charity has a clear strategy, and that its work and goals are in line with its vision. They make strategic decisions on behalf of the charity and have general control and administration management of the organisation.

Andrew added: “Emmaus Mossley is a well-established charity, thanks in part to the many people – past and present – who have served as trustees.

“We simply could not provide the range of services available to our companions and the local community without the input, expertise and guidance of our trustees.

“I am enormously grateful for everything our current team of trustees do in support of Emmaus Mossley. We look forward to welcoming new trustees and are committed to inducting and supporting them in their roles.”
