Dukinfield pub’s family fun day raises hundreds for charity

THERE were smiles all round as a Dukinfield pub held a family fun day which raised hundreds of pounds for a charity.

The Astley Arms, on Astley Street, organised an array of activities for the local community to enjoy on Saturday, July 27.

Among them were a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, inflatable skip with foam, a tombola, a BBQ and face painting.

As day became night, there was a shirt competition, bingo, games, and karaoke with DJ Andy.

The beneficiary was The Little Princess Trust, which provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

The family fun day raised £680.72 for the charity – following on from pub customer Kyle Greensmith’s hair donation earlier in the year.

Pub managers Kirsty Mayer-Ashton and Stacey Hinchliffe said: “Thank you to all our team, our volunteers and our customers for the most amazing day. You made all this possible.”
