THE CORRESPONDENT understands a change to a senior position at Tameside Council is likely to happen today.
It is believed the move will have major ramifications in an important department of the under-fire authority.
In recent weeks, a number of criticisms have been levelled, concerning several different issues.
Now it appears some action is being taken by the Labour-run council, led by Cllr Gerald Cooney.
Further details are expected to emerge later today. The Correspondent will provide a full report.
From the above – “Tameside Council set for major change”.
We wish.
We have a stick in the mud organisation which ignores most people, whether what they say is relevant, sensible or well-meaning. So many small things could be done to improve the borough at relatively little cost but instead, Tameside council prefers to tread water and stick with the status quo.
When I see all the lights on Ashton’s outside market blazing away round the clock, as they have been for the past 8 months, I see a wasteful mentality within the council and wonder what else is soaking up taxpayers’ money unnecessarily.
Add in all those with their nose in the council’s trough who wouldn’t rock its boat for love nor money let alone hold it to account, and a major change is long overdue.
