| DETECTIVES in Tameside have arrested a man in connection with a serious sexual assault that occurred in Hyde.
A 23-year-old man was apprehended on Sunday, July 7 on suspicion of serious sexual offences and remains in custody for questioning. On Friday, July 5 a woman was approached from behind and forced on to a patch of grass as she walked past Grafton Street, just off Clark Way. She is currently being assisted by specialist officers. Detective Chief Inspector Anna Barker, from our Tameside district said; “Whilst we make progress in this investigation, we would like to thank the local community for sharing our appeals and assisting us in our investigation. “Our enquiries are ongoing with patrols plans in place, as well as other officers working around the clock to bring the person responsible for this horrific act to justice. “If anyone has any additional detail, that they wish to share that could help us, please get in touch.
