A LOCAL charity is gearing up to honour a decade of providing compassionate support to people’s mental wellbeing.
The Anthony Seddon Fund, based in Ashton-under-Lyne, has become established in the community for offering support services that utilise the power of lived experience to assist others.
It was founded in 2013 in memory of Anthony Seddon, who died by suicide at the age of 30 following a 12-year battle with bipolar disorder.
The charity is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and marking the journey so far with a Gala Ball, described as “an evening of reminiscence, merriment and heartfelt stories”.
A spokesperson for the charity added: “Events like our Gala not only commemorate our achievements but are crucial in raising the necessary funds to continue our mission.
“Every ticket purchased, every bid placed, and every story shared furthers our ability to support mental wellbeing in our community.”
It takes place on Saturday, July 27, from 7pm until late at The Village Hotel in Ashton-under-Lyne.
There will be a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal, live music, a charity auction and a DJ.
Individual tickets for the event, which has a formal dress code, are £60 and can be purchased by emailing fundraising@tasfund.org.uk or calling 0161 376 4439.
