Special celebration for Tameside’s unpaid carers

CARERS across Tameside were recognised and celebrated during an afternoon filled with music, food and laughter.

Tameside Carers Centre organised a ‘Party in the Park’ as carers gathered in Stamford Park for some well-deserved time out.

It was an opportunity to show gratitude for their dedication to caring for others, as part of Carers Week – an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring and the contribution of unpaid carers to families and communities.

Dukinfield councillor John Taylor, Executive Member for Adult Social Care, said: “Thank you to all our carers who joined for this fun-filled afternoon of singing and socialising.

“We know it is important to provide these opportunities and spaces to take some time out for themselves, and to make meaningful connections with others who also care for someone.”
