PEOPLE living in one area of Stalybridge will find themselves at the centre of a major overnight road project.
From 8pm on Monday, May 13, access to properties on Huddersfield Road in Carrbrook will be restricted until 6am the following day.
It also means the main 348 bus service which goes through the area will not travel past Copley’s Demesne Drive between those times as it will terminate there.
Work to resurface the stretch between School Lane and Buckton Drive will take place over five nights.
And those with homes in the affected area have been told their co-operation is needed.
In a letter, Tameside Council’s environmental services manager for highways maintenance and risk management Lauren Redfern states: “Your assistance in keeping vehicle movements to a minimum and refraining from parking on the carriageway will be greatly appreciated.
“Any disruption to the works will inevitably delay the programme.”
The stretch of Huddersfield Road has seen several ‘patch’ schemes to address potholes that developed over recent months.
However, it has now been decided to completely replace the road surface.
