A TAMESIDE law firm has supported its local hospice by raising hundreds of pounds through various activities.
Staff at Bromleys Solicitors in Ashton-under-Lyne organised a number of lunches, dress down days and sweepstakes during 2023, when Willow Wood Hospice was their nominated Charity Partner.
Throughout the year, they raised £862.50 – which will help the hospice support patients and those closest to them from the local community with any life-limiting illness.
Chris Eaton and Lauren Healy, from Bromleys’ Staff Committee, recently presented a cheque to Samantha Kitch, Fundraising Manager at Willow Wood.
Samantha said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Bromleys for choosing Willow Wood as their Charity of the Year last year and to everyone at the firm who helped to raise a fantastic amount for the Hospice. The money will make a difference to patients from Tameside and Glossop with a life-limiting illness in our care.
“With only 20 per cent of our annual funding coming through central government, the generous support of our community is vital so we can continue to provide a wide range of services to improve the quality of life for our patients and those closest to them.”
Chris and Lauren described the firm’s fundraising efforts as “incredible”.
Lauren added: “It is great to hear what a positive difference the money raised will have on the hospice and its patients and we hope to continue our support in the future.”
Bromleys say they are proud to support services throughout the Tameside and Glossop community and will continue to do so.
This year, Willow Wood – based in Ashton-under-Lyne – is celebrating its 25th anniversary of providing compassionate care to local people.
