HYDE residents have something to cheer about as a fresh addition to Clarendon Square Shopping Centre is brewing up a buzz.
The latest branch of the North West-based independent coffee chain, The Coffee House, officially opened its doors on Tuesday, April 2, taking over the unit once occupied by Bonmarche.
Founders Chris and Stephen Shelmerdine are optimistic about the impact their establishment will have on the town centre amidst ongoing regeneration efforts.
The Hyde store has joined a growing list of locations across the region, including Stockport, Bolton, Sale, and Bury.
The new coffee house boasts seating for up to 80 customers. What sets it apart is its bespoke wooden counter handcrafted by the brothers’ father, complemented by industrial-style furnishings, ambient lighting, and comfortable seating creating a modern and relaxed atmosphere.
The Correspondent recently paid a visit to the establishment and found it to be a welcoming place.
The interior, adorned with dark walls and cosy seating, provides ample space for work or meeting friends. With free Wi-Fi catering to the needs of roving reporters like this title’s team, and a selection of sweet treats, cakes, croissants, and sandwiches fill the counter.
Chris added: “We are really passionate about creating an amazing customer experience and believe that with our dedicated teams, and quality products, it will be a lovely space for people to relax and meet up with their friends and family.”
Established in 2011, The Coffee House prides itself on redefining the dining and relaxation experience within local communities.
Katie Hayes, Centre Manager at Clarendon Square Shopping Centre, echoed this sentiment, expressing delight at welcoming The Coffee House to the CSSC at Hyde. “As a team, we have been looking for another quality operator and felt strongly that The Coffee House was perfect for both parties at this time,” she remarked. “They will be a great asset not only to the CSSC but also to the town and community.”

I don’t think anyone is excited for another coffee shop in Hyde to be honest…
I agree with Anxie. As nice as it looks I don’t think Hyde needed another coffee shop.
Foot fall in Hyde is so low surprised this shop will make money
