ENTRIES are open for one of the biggest sporting events in Mossley.
Since its inception in 2014, the Mossley 10K has steadily evolved from its humble beginnings to attract a diverse mix of experienced club competitors and enthusiastic fun runners through the event’s popularity.
This year promises to be no different, with organisers expecting another record turnout.
Scheduled for Sunday, July 21, the Mossley 10K has become a cornerstone of the local community, drawing participants from far and wide to experience its challenging yet breathtaking course.
The race, which starts and finishes at Mossley AFC’s Seel Park ground, offers what can only be described as “Grandstand Views” for spectators.
The course winds its way through Top Mossley, around Bottom Mossley and Greenfield, offering participants stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Last year saw Salford Harriers’ David Barratt make headlines by setting a new record, despite challenging weather conditions. He crossed the finish line in a remarkable time of 32 minutes and 21 seconds, shaving a mere one second off his own record.
Registration is now open. Unaffiliated runners can secure their spot for £18, while UK Athletics affiliated members pay £16.
However, to qualify for the reduced fee, participants must be registered members of a running club affiliated with UK Athletics. This requirement ensures compliance with insurance regulations, safeguarding the well-being of all participants.
Additionally, for those looking to commemorate their participation, race t-shirts are available for £12. Participants must be aged 15 years and over.
