Mossley Town Team celebrates volunteers at special event

VOLUNTEERS who devote their time to help causes in Mossley have been rightly celebrated.

The Town Team turned Emmaus, on Queen Street into A Celebration of Mossley Volunteers on Saturday, March 23.

This gathering was not just a congregation of individuals but a testament to the vibrant culture that thrives within the town, showcasing the wide variety of voluntary groups on offer and the opportunities available for people to get involved in.

It was evident there is a volunteering niche for everyone, regardless of age, skill set, knowledge base, interests, or availability.

And the event showcased stalls from a multitude of organisations, each representing a unique aspect of Mossley’s community fabric.

Among the participants were Andrew Street Pond, A Team Mossley, Emmaus Mossley, Fairtrade Mossley Steering Group, Friends of Egmont Street, Friends of Mossley Park, Incredible Edible Mossley, Let’s Piece It Together, Mossley AFC, Mossley Civic Society, Mossley Community Centre, Mossley Litter Bugs, Mossley Luncheon Club, Mossley Radio, Mossley SOUP, Mossley Town Team, and Tameside Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group.

And each marked the contributions of volunteers that make Mossley a vibrant and caring community.

As well as tending to local green spaces, groups that strengthen community connections, promote sustainable practices, support sports and leisure activities or provide essential services to those in need were on show.

Each one showed how vital the dedication of volunteers is as they offer the chance to connect with their community, develop new skills, and make meaningful contributions to causes they care about.

The flexibility offered by many organisations ensures that even those with busy schedules can find a way to get involved and make a difference.
