AN established gym has brought new energy to a shopping centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.
International Gym and Fitness Centre has been in various locations in the town, after initially planting its roots in Hyde some 30 years ago.
Boasting an array of modern machines and free weights, the newly-opened gym at the Ladysmith Shopping Centre also offers complimentary classes in a dedicated classroom, Personal Training sessions and plans to open a new boxing area.
Luke Parry acquired the gym in September 2022 and, having been a Personal Trainer and bodybuilding coach for eight years, he wants to introduce a bodybuilding gym experience and create a welcoming environment for members.
“We are an old school gym, but with a new environment feel – a hard training gym with a community touch,” he said.
Luke hopes to transform Ladysmith into the ultimate destination for those seeking an authentic and personal gym experience.
The entrance door to the gym on Katherine Street is next to Costa Coffee at the centre.
Ian Pratt, manager at Ladysmith, expressed his enthusiasm for the gym’s arrival.
“The return of a gym to Ladysmith is a great addition to our centre,” he said. “To add this vibrant health hub to our community is something we are proud to offer.”
