Council promises to help recovery of Visual Architects after blaze

THE HYDE firm that saw its premises destroyed by a fire has council backing to help it get back on its feet.

Visual Architects has vowed to continue with the minimum of disruption following the blaze at Meadow Street on Monday, January 22.

And it has been told by Tameside Council it has all the support it needs, both for its immediate and long-term recovery.

Cllr Jack Naylor, executive member for inclusive growth, business and employment, revealed his team is already working with Visual Architects, which works with many notable clients, including Manchester’s Parklife festival and Kendal Calling.

He also said the authority’s pride in being home to a business with such a reputation in its field means it will assist in helping it recover.

He said at the meeting of the executive cabinet on Wednesday, January 24: “Firstly, I would like to put on record my thanks to the emergency services for their swift action in controlling the incident and to share our relief that there were no reported casualties or injuries as a consequence of the fire.

“The fire has destroyed the business premises of Visual Architects, a vibrant and growing local business specialising in immersive decor and set design with a national and international reputation.

“They have a track record of supporting the local economy and residents through employment and event sponsorship as well as being passionate advocates of the future plans surrounding Hyde town centre.

“Our team in Economy, Employment and Skills has been working with the business in the aftermath of the devastating news and are providing a range of support to the team both immediate term but also looking at their longer-term disaster recovery.

“Tameside is proud to be the home of Visual Architects and we are committed to providing business support to their team as they navigate through this difficult time.”
