A LARGE blaze in Hyde is causing problems on the roads as a major thoroughfare remains closed.
Police and fire officers remain at the scene as water is sprayed on the Visual Architects building on Meadow Street. The Correspondent understands crews are likely to remain at the scene throughout the day.
And the damping down operation has seen one of the main routes through the town, from Energie Fitness Ricky Hatton on Market Street to Hyde Cemetery on Stockport Road.
Lumn Road is also believed to be shut and surrounding roads are said to be very heavy with traffic.
Bus operator Stagecoach said: “We have no option but to terminate the 202 service at Hyde Bus Station until further notice.
“The 330 will still be running between Gee Cross and Hyde.”
People were evacuated from their homes as the blaze raged at the building late on Monday, January 22.

The roof and walls of the structure are said to have collapsed and a large cordon is expected to remain in place for some time.
Visual Architects is a creative business specialising in events established in 2013 and have covered huge global brands, including Love Island, Puma, Kendal Calling and Parklife.
The Correspondent understands it was set to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Pride of Tameside Business Awards.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just after 9.30pm firefighters were called to reports of a building on fire on Stockport Road, Hyde.
“Five fire engines from Hyde, Gorton, Stalybridge, Stockport and Whitehill fire stations, alongside a hydraulic platform from Oldham, arrived quickly at the scene, which involved a commercial building.
“Crews wore breathing apparatus and worked to extinguish the fire, including helping to evacuate nearby properties.”
