AN elderly woman who was taken to hospital after being hit by a car on a main road in Audenshaw has sadly died.
The 82-year-old was in a serious condition after being struck by a vehicle on Manchester Road, close to the Snipe Retail Park, on Monday, November 20.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.55pm and the woman, who was a pedestrian, was taken to hospital with what Greater Manchester Police described as ‘life-threatening’ injuries.
In a statement on Monday, November 27, the force confirmed she has sadly passed away.
They added that the driver of the vehicle, a 31-year-old woman, remained at the scene and is continuing to assist police with enquiries.
Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the collision, particularly anyone with mobile, dash cam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
