A VOLUNTEER from Mossley Town Team has said recurring vandalism of its planters is “soul-destroying”.
The group of volunteers dedicate their time to making both Top Mossley and Bottom Mossley as attractive as possible, supported by kind-hearted individuals and businesses.
One of their recent projects has been making sure flower beds and planters around the town are as colourful as ever.
But their progress has been continuously disrupted by vandals, much to the team’s frustration.
Val Snape, one of the volunteers, said: “There will not be a flower display on the Library wall from now on as the vandal has struck for a third time and pushed over a sixth planter.
“The Mossley Town Team volunteers work endlessly to give the town a colourful appearance, but it’s so soul-destroying when our efforts are vandalised in this way.
“We will, however, carry on regardless with a plant up of winter bedding and hanging baskets this Sunday.”
Mossley Town Team is urging residents to report any information about any incidents of vandalism to the police by calling 101 or visiting www.gmp.police.uk
