Mottram Moor collision causes traffic chaos

TRAVELLERS say it has taken up to 90 minutes to get from Hollingworth to Ashton after Mottram Moor was closed following a collision.

A building has been declared unstable after the incident on the evening of Sunday, August 27, which is believed to have caused a gas leak.
And the partial road closure, at a major junction with diversions along Back Moor, has seen huge traffic jams in the area.

Buses have been diverted ‘until further notice,’ with journey times for services of up to two hours being reported.
Car drivers also reported huge delays to their usual journey.
One person was taken to hospital, although their condition was not said to be serious.
At the time of the collision, Greater Manchester Police said: “Emergency services are dealing with an RTC in Mottram Moor that is causing traffic disruption with drivers asked to avoid the area as there are road closures.
