Stabbing in Denton sees three people injured

POLICE have launched an investigation after a stabbing incident in Denton is believed to have seen three people injured.

Shortly after 9.30am on Saturday, March 18, Greater Manchester officers were called to Yew Tree Road.

A woman was taken to hospital from the scene for further treatment on injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Two more people who are believed to be involved later presented themselves at hospital with serious injuries. Again, they are not thought to be life threatening.

Upon conducting initial enquiries this is believed to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public, but extra officers are being deployed to the area for community reassurance.

Detective Sergeant Pete Goddard of GMP Tameside district said: “A scene will continue to be in place whilst we conduct further searches and enquiries. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to one of our officers, they are here to help.

“GMP are taking a robust approach to knife crime in the Greater Manchester area, and this is no exception.
