COMMUNITY groups and organisations have been asked to apply for grants of up to £500 from Tameside Rotary.
And the planned dates for this year’s beer festival, which is run by them, have been revealed – September 22 and 23.
‘Small grants, big difference’ is the name the branch has given to its community cash awards scheme, which is aimed at offering grants of up to £500 to local groups, charities, clubs, societies, and other organisations supporting community life.
Throughout the year, Tameside Rotarians, who are volunteers, hold fundraising events and then the proceeds are distributed back into the community.
Recently, some charities received the combined sum of £5,000 arising from last year’s highly successful Tameside Beer Festival, which has already been placed in the calendar at Stalybridge Civic Hall.
The grants available now are the result of the generous support given by residents to the Santa Float collection.
Now Tameside Rotary is keen to hear from a wide range of groups, supporting a broad range of causes, where a grant award would help make a difference to those they are striving to serve in the local community.
However, anyone looking to apply will have to move quickly as the closing date is Wednesday, March 8.
Guidance notes and an application form are available from Tameside Rotary’s website www.TamesideRotaryClub.com
