Stalybridge parish’s Christmas Fair raises thousands of pounds

A STALYBRIDGE parish and many associated with its two schools raised a four-figure sum at a Christmas fair.

St Peter’s and St Raphael’s, which have operated under the same banner for 10 years, put on all kinds of stalls at the first-named primary on Castle Hall Close on November 26.

And as the hall and classrooms – which were themselves home to different sellers, games and activities – were packed, a huge £3,700 was raised.

A spokesman for the parish said: “Thank you everyone for all your help and support in making the Christmas Fair a huge success, whether it was attending on the day, sending items to sell and make the stalls look great, or by making a monetary donation – it really is all appreciated.

“A lot of hard work goes into this event and all your help is very much appreciated – especially when we hear that the profit is a fantastic £3,700!!”
